Music

We have a large variety of instruments and voices that help to lead the music at our worship services on Sundays. We are always looking for new members who have a passion for music and worship. Members of our worship teams work closely together with our worship leaders to coordinate the music for our Sunday Services.

The worship team practices on Friday evenings at 5pm and Sunday morning before church at 8am.

AV

Another essential part of our worship team is our AV (Audio/Visual) operators. This team of people oversees operating the projector and the sound desk during Sunday Services and worship practices. Their primary responsibilities are projecting the lyrics during worship, monitoring the audio mix for the worship team, and assisting with technical issues.

Children’s Ministry

We have a large children’s ministry that offers many opportunities for people to assist with. On Sunday mornings, the children attend Godly Play. Teachers of Godly Play need to be trained and accredited, but we can assist you with this accreditation if you would like to get involved in this ministry.

Our children also meet for Junior Youth on Friday evenings. This is another area that people can get involved in the lives of our children.

Please take note that anyone who works closely with children in our church will need to provide a police clearance certificate.

Youth Ministry

Our youth ministry is currently small, but it has potential for growth. If you have a passion for serving teenagers, please contact Joe or Ingrid Evans about ways to assist. Our youth group meets every Sunday during church services.

Reading

Our weekly scripture readings on a Sunday are usually read by members from our congregation.

Prayer

We have a prayer team that prays with people on Sundays after church services. This takes place in the prayer room off to the side of front of the church.

We also have a prayer chain on WhatsApp where prayer requests are shared, and our team of prayer warriors offer prayer and support for those in need. Our updated prayer list is shared with all our members in the church’s bulletin every week as well.

Pastoral Care

We have a dedicated team that visits and cares for people on our prayer list or might need special assistance.

Our church is serviced by Hope Counselling, an experienced ecumenical team that offers counselling to anyone in need. You can contact them directly on 079 143 8531.

Welcome

Our welcome committee stands at the entrance of the church and welcomes people to church services on a Sunday.

Tea

The tea team ensures that tea and coffee is ready to be served after church services on a Sunday. They also assist with providing tea and coffee for special events such as funerals.

Flowers

The flowers team makes sure that we have beautiful bouquets of floral arrangements in our church services every Sunday. Most of these flowers are provided by members from their very own gardens.

Décor

The Décor of the church plays an important role in people’s ability to worship. Our décor team oversees creating and changing the banners in the church, changing the liturgical vestments during the various seasons of the church calendar and offering assistance with the design of the sanctuary and church buildings.

Hospitality/Catering

The catering team works closely with the tea team to provide eats and catering for special events in the church’s calendar. Often, this means asking various church members to provide a plate of eats.

Preaching

If you feel called to preach, the Methodist Church has an easy process to follow to test your call and ensure that you are best prepared to do so. Please contact Joe to discuss this process further.

Outreach

Our members are encouraged to make donations of food, clothing, and blankets whenever they are able to do so. These can be dropped off at the church on Sundays or on Fridays between 08h00-12h00. We have a dedicated freezer in the church hall for premade meals that will be used to assist members who are in a particular need or might need special support.

Property

We have a large property that requires regular care and maintenance, particularly the buildings and gardens. If you have any expertise and passion in these areas, please consider helping us keep our property looking as beautiful as it currently does. Audio Devotions

We send out short daily audio devotions on WhatsApp every weekday. These are recorded and shared by our church’s members. If you have recently done a devotion that was special to you, why not record a short voice note (under 5 minutes) and send it to Odin on WhatsApp to be shared with our church community?

Fundraising

We have a team who helps us raise funds to meet our monthly expenses and do additional exciting projects in our church.
